No picture this week, and no good news either I'm sorry to say. The 410 was involved in an accident last week and sustained some serious damage, so will be off the road for the foreseeable future. Thankfully no one was injured and, as far as I can see, I do not think the car sustained major structural damage to the chassis or mechanical parts so should be repairable. However it will require significant repairs to the bodywork. The insurers will obviously have to balance estimated cost of that work against the value of the car and make their decision on how to proceed once the damage has been assessed. I shall update this site when I have some better news to report. In the meantime, if you have any recommendations for skilled accident repairers with experience of handbuilt, aluminium-bodied cars, or if you know of an otherwise scrap 410 from which panels can be removed, do please let me know.
